Mechanical Installation of Process Equipment and Systems

Executing precision mechanical installation of major wastewater treatment process equipment, including heavy rigging, equipment setting, alignment, tolerance verification, and interface coordination for a 3.5 MGD high-strength industrial treatment system supporting large-scale solar manufacturing.

Executive Summary

For a major solar manufacturing facility operated by Qcells North America on the U.S. East Coast, a robust wastewater treatment system was required to support high-volume production while meeting stringent discharge and operational requirements. The project demanded disciplined mechanical execution, tight coordination with ongoing plant construction, and installation quality capable of supporting reliable, long-term treatment performance in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Tomorrow Water Actions and Scope

Tomorrow Water was responsible for the mechanical installation of wastewater treatment process equipment and associated systems. The scope included setting and installing major treatment components such as pumps, tanks, skids, and packaged equipment, along with all required mechanical interfaces to support system functionality.

Installation activities emphasized heavy rigging, equipment setting, precision alignment, tolerance verification, and coordination of mechanical interfaces with civil, structural, and electrical systems. Work was executed in accordance with detailed QA/QC requirements, including material verification, alignment inspections, controlled flushing where applicable, hydrostatic testing, and inspection of mechanical connections prior to commissioning. All activities were closely coordinated with Qcells North America and construction partners to ensure constructability, schedule adherence, safety compliance, and readiness for startup.

Conclusion

Through disciplined mechanical installation and rigorous quality control, Tomorrow Water supported the successful deployment of a critical wastewater treatment system for advanced solar manufacturing. The project highlights Tomorrow Water’s capability to deliver high-quality mechanical execution for complex industrial treatment systems ensuring operational reliability, compliance readiness, and long-term performance.
